The energy-efficient barrel design heats faster and more evenly than rectangular saunas due to the curved interior that eliminates dead air corners. The sauna is powered by a 6 kW UL-certified Harvia KIP heater (made in Finland) delivering 158°F to 194°F for both dry and wet (steam/löyly) sessions. The natural rustic cedar finish, tinted glass door, exterior LED lighting, exterior towel rack, and weather-resistant shingle roofing complete a design that is as visually distinctive as it is functional. DIY assembly is supported. 220–240V professional electrical wiring is required. Covered by a 1-year limited warranty.
The Liatris’s front porch canopy is a covered exterior seating area attached to the front of the sauna cabin — a shaded space to sit, cool down, and breathe fresh air between sauna rounds. Traditional sauna practice involves alternating between heat sessions and cooling periods; the front porch provides a dedicated, comfortable space for this cooling phase without leaving the sauna area. The exterior bench (14"L) provides seating directly under the canopy.
The front porch area is equipped with exterior LED lighting for evening and nighttime sauna sessions — illuminating the porch and entry area for safety and ambiance. An exterior towel rack provides a convenient place to hang towels, robes, and accessories outside the sauna cabin. Together, the porch canopy, LED lighting, and towel rack create a complete outdoor sauna station.
The Liatris is powered by a 6 kW Harvia KIP heater — a UL-certified heater manufactured in Finland by Harvia, one of the world’s leading sauna heater brands with over 70 years of sauna heritage. The Harvia KIP delivers smooth, consistent heat distribution from 158°F to 194°F with an adjustable heater dial for precise temperature control. The heater holds 35 lbs of sauna stones (included) for wet sauna use. The auto 60-minute shut-off provides safety for extended sessions.
The Liatris supports both dry sauna (heat only) and wet sauna (steam/löyly) sessions. Pour water over the heated Harvia KIP stones using the included wooden sauna bucket and water scoop to generate steam for a traditional Finnish löyly experience. The barrel design’s curved interior helps distribute steam evenly throughout the cabin. The included thermo-hygrometer lets you monitor both temperature and humidity inside the sauna.
The barrel design is the defining structural feature of the Liatris — the curved, cylindrical shape eliminates the dead air corners found in rectangular saunas, allowing heat to circulate more efficiently throughout the interior. This means the barrel sauna heats up faster and maintains temperature more evenly than a comparable rectangular cabin. The curved ceiling also naturally directs condensation away from bathers. The interior dimensions are 70"L × 70"W × 70"H — a generous, comfortable space for 5–6 people.
The sauna is constructed from aromatic rustic cedar with 30mm (approx. 1.2") wall thickness and stainless steel hardware. Cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, warping, and decay — ideal for outdoor sauna construction. The natural cedar finish develops a beautiful silver-gray patina over time with outdoor exposure. The roof is finished with weather-resistant shingles (included) for long-term outdoor durability. The tinted glass door provides privacy while allowing natural light into the cabin.
